Vintage Vision finished 3rd in the Green Dragons Den Awards
After a long hard day of workshops and networking, Vintage Vision today finished 3rd in the Green Dragon's Den at Hay on Earth. Although we are immensely proud of our achievement, it is disappointing to be so near, yet so far, from the £10k award which could have made life so much easier for VV in the coming months.
A small consolation was being awarded top marks by the judges in the 'Innovation' section. However, onwards and upwards ladies, we'll delay taking over the world for a few months.......
Welsh Assembly 'Green Dragons' Sustainable Development Challenge
Vintage Vision has been short listed for the £10,000 Welsh Assembly Sustainable Development Challenge 'Green Dragons' grant that will be awarded at Hay on Earth next week!!
The Hay on Earth 2010 programme will be launched by Jane Davidson on 28th May at the Festival.
Vintage Vision has been short listed in the 'Business and Enterprise Award' category, highlighting ideas for stainability projects that show leadership, innovation and more than a little flair.
There's a lot of hard work to be done before our networking and presentation day next Thursday - 3rd June, but we're encouraging our supporters to call in during the afternoon 'free session' to offer your support.
We look forward to seeing you at Hay next Thursday afternoon - or just drop in to our Hay shop at 48 Lion Street.
Hey HAY! How about this!
We're taking our brand of 'vintage with a conscience' to the world famous literary festival from 27th May to 6th June 2010. We have rented a shop right in the centre of the town, 48 Lion Street, Hay-on-Wye and will be open each day 10am – 7pm.
We'll be wowing visitors and celebrities with our gorgeous vintage clothes and accessories.
To help us to make this trip a spectacular success, we are looking to our loyal supporters for the following:
- Donations, donations, donations - we've got two shops that will need to look fabulous - and 90 extra hours of selling time!!
- Time – if you can help out in Hay, or in Abergavenny (where we'll still be open Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10am – 4pm) -please contact us. If you're visiting Hay for the festival, please call in and see us.
- Your networking – please tell your friends, acquaintances, people you stop on the street! Spread the word.

Vintage Vision also have a blog!!!
We now have a blog, its been set up by Marion who is one of our volunteers in the shop, so she can talk about the wonderful range of clothes and vintage accessories that we currently have in Vintage Vision. Details can be found here
Well, good news and bad news...
The bad news is that Vintage Vision didn't win the title of 'Most Promising New Business' award, which was announced last night. We were beaten by Abergavenny Focus magazine but ,since they have given us tremendous support in publicising what we do, then we aren't bearing a grudge.....
The good news is that, at the gala awards evening where the winners were announced, there were 120 people who now know a lot more about Vintage Vision. At least half of the audience were women who were wearing some pretty stunning dresses, so there's definitely a market out there for our vintage evening wear! Marion and Amanda flew the flag for us on the night, and passed Vintage Vision cards and information around in true networking style.... They made some good contacts, including the offer of some sponsorship for our Fashion show featuring later in the year.
Many Thanks to all those who helped with the submission.......better luck next year!
